On Guestbook Spammers
by iDogI really cannot understand those spammers. Usually they make some lausy site with no content but advertisements of medicines that nobody would buy at all. They keep posting the URLs of their sucking sites, but I already used the "nofollow" to tell search engines not to go there, and their URLs won't shown as links at all, but they still keep on spamming, making other people's guestbooks like those ugly painted walls in western countries. The ugly walls are advertisements of their lausy painting skills, while the spamming posts are advertisements of their lausy sites.
Guestbook spammers are usually loosers - they don't have a elegant way to promote their boring websites, so they have to do this kind of nasty things.
There are some tips to deal with them:
- Add 'nofollow' in your links, like <a href="xxx" rel="nofollow">, so that search engines will not index them;
- disable HTML, so that they cannot make links;
- Don't generate auto links for URLs pasted, so the URLs they pasted will remain ordinary text;
By doing the above, they cannot get any benefit from spamming your guestbook. Then if possible, you can block their IP addresses, and public their IP addresses in your web site, so other people can add them to black lists.
