[Reply] 这些问题有点难为作为程序员的我了。我觉得多数问题更像是应该问比尔·盖茨之类的人的。

说中国不应该诞生软件产业有点妄自菲薄。我们可能难以产生诸如微软、甲骨文这样的公司,但在应用等领域还是需要大量软件的,尤其是对国内或某个公司有针对性的软件。比如原来的WPS之类的,只是它不成功,因为微软的Office足够强大,能完全对应我们中国市场。汉字输入法是另一个例子,只是面太小,不赚钱。当然,只有企业舍得在这方面上花钱,才能促进软件行业的发展。而要让他们舍得花钱,其必要条件是花了钱后有可能给他们赚来更多的钱。比如,从电视的招聘节目里看,国内一些互联网企业好像对开发职位给的还是相对较高的,因为这跟他们的销售业绩相关性比较强。当然,互联网企业里不一定有太多高端的开发。我把自己也是定位于应用开发,而不是系统开发(指操作系统、数据库软件等)。我是做金融方面的开发的,交易和分析计算之类,其特点是对某个国家的市场和某种需要针对性强,而且需求随时会出现或改变。因此,多数公司都自己开发。也有软件公司有这类产品,但不够理想。

对比各个国家的话,美国估计在很长时间内将处于主导地位,因为计算机之类的东西就是人家的东西。只要大家用微软的操作系统,就要受其摆布。他们不但有系统软件,也有应用软件。日本本身的软件产业不算强,多数也是侧重于应用。以前NEC有过自己规格的PC,后来毫无悬念地失败了。但日本公司毕竟比较有钱,尤其是大公司来说,也舍得投入,这就能促进软件行业的发展。比如,我所在的公司(很大),上了一个基于互联网的人事管理系统,找某大公司定制的(好像是NEC还是富士通),据说花了几亿日元,我都感觉不可思议。我国估计也应该主要侧重于应用的开发吧。真能弄CPU和操作系统的话当然好,但事实证明,目前为止都是糊弄人的。可能一直以来的用盗版软件的习惯,也使得大家不愿意在软件上花太多钱,这也会限制软件行业的发展。

关于平台,应该说电脑还是主要平台,至少对于企业来说。服务器端总不可能在手机上吧。手机多数是用户界面或小小的应用之类的。但手机开发相对较新,里面的人少,初期可能由于竞争少而容易赚钱吧,特别是自己能单干的话。

至于软件行业应向哪个方向发展,这是问各公司CEO的问题。。。的确现在好像应有尽有似的,对于小公司或个人的话,能找到一个niche的话,有可能小发一笔。对于大的项目,寻找版本需要不断更新的行业,或一定要有人维护的行业,就能一直做下去。一个例子是日本的会计软件,因为每年可能在税法等方面有一些调整,需要不断推出新版本。但是从另一个角度看,总做一样的东西也很枯燥。

至于这个留言薄,程序确实比较简陋。除了我之外,要回复的话,只能另起一贴。也弄过论坛,后来逐渐没人了,来的多数是SPAM的,因为我是个怕麻烦的人,就弄成只读了。

另,从我们程序员本身的角度来看的话,我觉得不必太关注一些过于空泛的东西,工作是否稳定等也不重要。要把注意力集中在自己身上,主要考虑这项工作能否充分发展自己的技能。因为很多技术都是共通的,初期时,在哪个国家、哪个行业磨练都行。

过于稳定的工作往往会限制你的发展,除非你觉得自己的技术基本够用了。我考虑的主要是获得多少工资和获得何种经验这两方面。当现在的工作在其中之一或二者都出现问题时,我就考虑跳槽。对新的职位的选择还是以这两条为标准。若二者不能得兼,开始时多注重经验技术的积累(输入阶段),随着能力的提高,以后逐渐把侧重点向工资偏移(输出阶段)。能力越强选择的机会就越多。

[Reply] 别称“大师”了,自己清楚不够格,弄得本人怪惭愧的。我认为所谓“过了35岁不能再做程序员”主要跟国情有关,就是国内(至少是我所了解的以前的情况)IT界大多干一些低端的项目,因此,程序员们也多是拼体力地堆砌代码,因此,岁数大了的话,让你常年这样每天熬夜不睡觉地苦干,你自己也顶不住吧?这里有一篇国内的人写的关于35岁的文章和大家的意见(以及本人多年前的观点):

至于我本人,以前也隐约担忧过,结果干到现在,远远超过了那个所谓的年龄极限。我对项目管理很不感兴趣,看那些项目经理天天盯着个MS Project之类的软件划道道,烦都烦死了。可能是本人情商不够高的原因吧。我对长期做程序员的对策是:在某一领域变得精专。这里有一篇关于程序员的炼成的文章,可以参考其思想(而不一定是文中给出的具体建议):

简单说,拿武功来比喻,年轻时像练少林拳的,拼的是体力,但一直这样的话,将来可能不会有发展。不是说少林拳不好,而是少林拳也不都是刚猛的,也有易筋经,大悲拳和心意把之类的内容。到岁数大时,可能就像太极拳了,不论什么困境都能不费力地从容化解,因此,就算体力比不了年轻人,也没有问题。更恰当的比喻是内家拳的从明劲到暗劲、化劲的进阶(如果你以前涉猎过这类知识的话)。

我的具体做法是:对强力的、有生命力的、相对稳定不变的和有些技术门槛的语言或技术彻底弄通,再学某些业务知识,这样,就不用时刻追在最新技术的屁股后疲于奔命了。我会的技术中的核心是C Plus Plus (STL)、Java和算法等。这些学好了,其他语言在需要时也看看就能用了。我主要学的业务知识是数学和金融。

现在我跟公司里一些其他的程序员的不同是,我能仔细分析,并迅速搭一个框架,而且在做什么之前都考虑一下重用性,这样,我的工作就是具有累积效应的,以后做项目就会越来越快,因为框架和一些功能模块都在那里了。也具有足够的弹性来容易地修改和添加新机能。很多人都是十分针对地完成分给他的项目,丝毫不多考虑一下设计的优美和扩展性等,以后要维护就十分麻烦。因此,在其他人眼里,我跟公司里一些其他的程序员在表现上的不同就是,我工作极其迅速,并且Bug极少,尽管我并没用太大力气来做。因此,我认为,程序员这行是能待下去的,其条件是:良好的工作环境 很强的自身专业修养。当然,我的这种情况也是个案,是我自己趟出来的路。这个行业变化十分迅速,每个人的情况也不同,因此,你应该只是参考这种思想,而不一定照搬。

关于北京的房子,我就不多做评论了。甚至国内任何地方的房子,从一个投资者的角度看,我都觉得十分荒谬。至于北京这个地方,去年清明节,旅游归来时因买不到票而临时到北京停了一下,人和车的拥挤以及人们对他人的关心的缺乏,让我感觉十分不好。因此,就算回国工作,恐怕我也不会选择那里。不过,北京肯定有其他二线城市及以下的地方所没有的资源和信息,因此,对你的事业发展可能是有益的。等炼成后,就想去哪里都行了。记住一点:工作和跳槽,都要仔细考虑一下你能得到什么,不只是钱,还有经验和技术。
